Aeration plays an essential role in biological filters, providing oxygen to aerobic bacteria that break down dissolved waste. The Oase ‘Compact’ models combine drum filters with moving bed media chambers that require aeration. The larger Oase drum filters have stand alone moving bed modules to which the AquaOxy 2500 should also be connected.
