Oase Hel-X 13 Biomedia are designed for use in the moving bed chambers of Oase’s drum filter range. Hel-X Biomedia are small plastic pieces with a protected, high surface area for optimal filter bacteria colonization. Filter bacteria break down of toxic ammonia and nitrite into harmless nitrate, helping to maintain excellent water quality for your fish.

Each 25 litre bag of Oase Hel-X 13 Biomedia breaks down 170g of fish food per day. Oase’s range of compact drum filters come with a full compliment of Hel-X Biomedia. However the larger moving bed modules used in conjunction with DF-L and XL drum filters can accommodate double the amount they are supplied with – for extra biological filtration capability:

Proficlear Premium Moving Bed Module (used in conjunction with DF-L sized drum) – Supplied with 50 litres of Oase Hel-X 13 Biomedia. A further 50 litres (2 x 25 litre bags) can be added for a total of 100 litres.

ProfiClear Premium XL Moving Bed Module (used in conjunction with DF-L sized drum) – Supplied with 100 litres of Oase Hel-X 13 Biomedia. A further 100 litres (4 x 25 litre bags) can be added for a total of 200 litres.
