Pond water passing through the unit is exposed to ultraviolet light (UV) which kills unicellular algae that cause green water. UV is also an effective means of sterilization, killing disease-causing bacteria and viruses, which is highly beneficial to the health and well-being of your fish.
UV clarifiers should be used in conjunction with a filter that will physically remove dead algae from pond water. This is important to reduce organic load to prevent future algal blooms, and to remove suspended solids that can block UV rays and hinder efficiency.
